You Will Face Me, Sir.

The blog of Kieran: Student, developer, drinker of coffee.
Oh, and he made this theme.

  1. The Secret World - ‘Progression’ developer diary

    THIS.

This is the reason why I am so excited for this game.

Take three and a half minutes out of your life to watch the video. I promise if you’re at all open to the concept of gaming, it’ll more than pique your interest.

  2. The Secret World - A Smorgasbord of Interviews and Juicy Info

These series of great interviews with the TSW guys are really illuminating on the directions the game is taking. They’re SO worth taking the time to read: there’s a lot of new information here, on servers and especially on crafting, as well as some nuggets about PvP rewards too.

Did I mention I’m really I to PvP these days?

Anyway, my favourite question, from all of these interviews as well as in any interview ever, has to be the below one.

    Anarchy Online forever, yo.

Q: Is there anything from other MMOs that you’d like to incorporate into Secret World, or that influences its design?

MB: Not really. Not directly but to some degree Anarchy Online. I loved the freedom of it, I felt like a snowflake in AO because of the skill system. I feel you have the same possibility in Secret World. You can be unique, you can come up with combos that no one has ever thought of before, there’s tons of gear and you can really come up with some really cool chain effects based on how passive and active abilities relate to one another. In that sense, being unique, AO has influenced it.

  3. #E3: My cumlist this year (roughly ordered).

(Links, videos etc. to come as the week goes on - check back to this post)

#1: Deus Ex: Human Revolution (GHNNNN ahhhhh. Sorry, came.)
    #2: Medal of Honor
#3: Halo: Reach (lower because I’ve already played it!)
    #4: The Secret World
#5: Star Wars: The Old Republic
#6: Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Yes, an AC game is up here, due to the GODLY trailer)
    #7: APB (MMOGTA!!)
    #8: Mass Effect 3
    #9: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
#10: Project: Natal (Kinect now, apparently)

Call of Duty is conspicuously absent after the fiasco that was Modern Warfare 2. Interestingly, Gears of War 3 is piquing my interest, despite me getting fed up of the second one very early on. Only time will tell.
